A web-based HMI and SCADA you draw in the browser.

Category: Industrial Connectivity

FUXA, from Frangoteam, is a process visualization tool. You build screens in a browser editor and bind them to plant equipment, and operators open the same app to watch and drive the process. EmberNet packages it as a chart of its own, running FUXA 1.3.5 the way upstream ships it.

What it does

  • Draws process screens, dashboards and reports in the browser.
  • Talks to equipment over Modbus, S7, OPC UA, BACnet, MQTT and EtherNet/IP.
  • Keeps its historian, project, logs, uploaded images, widgets, reports and installed packages under one data folder.
  • Runs on amd64, arm64 and 32-bit arm, using FUXA's own multi-arch image.

When to use it

Use FUXA when you want an HMI or SCADA screen next to the equipment without licensing a desktop package, and you'd rather draw it in a browser than install a client. It can read from a PLC directly, or from a gateway such as HotLoop Edge over OPC UA.

Running on EmberNet

  • Opens in EmberCORE. FUXA's editor, runtime and API share one web port, 1881, and the App Store opens it from the Running Apps tab.
  • One instance per node.
  • Your work survives restarts. The chart puts a 2 Gi volume under FUXA's data folder by default, so a pod restart or an upgrade keeps the project and the historian.
  • Sized small by default. It requests 100m of CPU and 256 MiB of memory, and the chart has medium and large presets.
  • Locked down. It runs as a non-root user on a read-only root filesystem with every capability dropped.
  • It reaches what the node reaches. The chart adds no network restrictions, so FUXA can talk to any equipment the node can.
Turn security on

FUXA ships with security off, and EmberNet leaves it that way. Until you turn security on in FUXA's own settings, anyone who can reach the app can open the editor. Once it's on, the administrator login is FUXA's factory default, so change that password immediately.
