Ignition Cloud

Ignition logo

A central Ignition gateway, deployed and run for you by Fireball.

Platform service

Ignition Cloud is a full Inductive Automation Ignition gateway that sits at the center of your EmberNet deployment. It is not an App Store app. Fireball deploys it, runs it, and upgrades it as part of the platform, and it shows up in EmberCORE once Ignition is turned on for your organization.

What it does

  • Runs a complete Ignition gateway: the tag engine, historian, alarming, reporting, and Perspective and Vision HMI.
  • Gives you one central gateway for every site, instead of a gateway pinned to one plant.
  • Pairs with Ignition Edge gateways at your sites, which collect at the machine and feed the center over Flux.

When to use it

Ask for Ignition Cloud when you want a central Ignition system: a multi-site view, an enterprise historian, or corporate dashboards that draw from every plant. If you only need a gateway at the machine, deploy Ignition Edge from the App Store instead, and for a full gateway of your own at one plant, deploy Ignition.

Running on EmberNet

  • Fireball turns it on. Ignition is switched on per organization. Until it is, EmberCORE does not show the Ignition cards. Once it is, those cards open your organization's own gateways and nobody else's.
  • Ignition 8.3.8. Fireball deploys the Ignition Cloud Edition at version 8.3.8.
  • Sign-in comes with EmberCORE. Admins and Engineers who open an Ignition card arrive at the gateway already signed in, with gateway roles that follow their role in your organization. Your organization's Admins get the gateway's Administrator role on your own gateways. Operators and Viewers see the gateway's normal login page.
  • Role mapping is yours. A tenant Admin decides which Ignition roles each EmberCORE role receives.
