GoRules BRMS
The authoring server for GoRules decision models.
Category: Business Rules
GoRules BRMS is the business rules management system from GoRules: a web application where engineers and domain experts build decision tables and decision graphs, test them, and release them. It is where rules are written. The engines that run them at the edge are separate apps.
What it does
- Gives your team a browser editor for JDM decision models: decision tables, expressions, and the graphs that connect them.
- Lets you test a model against sample inputs before anyone depends on it.
- Versions models and releases them, so the edge runs a known release instead of whatever was last edited.
When to use it
Deploy the BRMS when people, not code, should own the decision logic: quality gates, routing, alarm suppression, setpoint selection. Run one BRMS centrally, and run GoRules Engine or GoRules Zen Engine next to the equipment that needs the decisions.
Running on EmberNet
- One instance per node. The chart runs a single BRMS server.
- Its web interface opens in EmberCORE.
- Brings its own database. The chart runs PostgreSQL 16 beside the server on a 2 GiB volume. It can use an external PostgreSQL instead.
- Sized for a server, not a sensor. The BRMS requests 1 GiB of memory and may use up to 2 GiB, so give it a node with room.
- Git sync is optional. The chart can push model changes to a Git repository over SSH, which is off by default.
