Ignition Standard
Ignition Standard is a complete Inductive Automation Ignition gateway deployed to a node at your site: the full SCADA/HMI platform, running where the process is.
Category: SCADA & HMI
What it does
- Runs the full Ignition gateway on-site: Vision and Perspective HMI, tags, historian, alarming, and reporting.
- Connects directly to on-site PLCs and devices with unlimited local tags and modules per your license.
- Serves control and visualization screens to plant operators locally, with no dependency on the cloud.
When to use it
Choose Ignition Standard when a site needs a full, self-sufficient Ignition gateway of its own, such as a plant that runs its own SCADA and shouldn't depend on a central gateway for day-to-day operation.
How it compares
| Ignition Cloud | Ignition Standard | Ignition Edge | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | Central cloud | On-site, per plant | On the edge device |
| Role | Aggregation & enterprise | Full site SCADA | Local collection & buffering |
| Scale | Multi-site | Single site, full-featured | Lightweight, focused |
Running on EmberNet
Ignition Standard runs on a node at your site and opens directly in the dashboard. It can forward to an Ignition Cloud gateway for enterprise roll-up, or run entirely on its own.
Ignition licensing is handled as part of your EmberNet subscription; talk to your account team about tag counts and module entitlements.
