What it does​

  • A fast, standards-compliant MQTT broker for publish and subscribe messaging.
  • Connects sensors, PLCs, and applications over a common bus, including Sparkplug B traffic.
  • Exposes Prometheus metrics about the broker itself.

When to use it​

Deploy Mosquitto when you need an MQTT broker of your own on a node, for device messaging and decoupling producers from consumers. The platform's own broker is AnvilMQ.

Running on EmberNet​

Mosquitto runs as a single instance per node. A broker has no web interface, so its card offers a shell for running mosquitto_pub and mosquitto_sub and checking the broker.
